Upgraded Ventilation and Purification Systems for Reduced Infection Risk

After the outbreak of COVID-19, China Academy of Building Research promptly submitted a project proposal titled “Air Purification and Disinfection Devices for Building Ventilation System Renovation” in response to industry development needs.

Air conditioning is a double-edged sword—it can remove or dilute various air pollutants but can also generate, induce, or worsen pollution. With the normalization of pandemic prevention and control, it is no longer enough to simply operate air conditioning properly; enhancing its epidemic resistance capabilities is essential. Adding air purification and disinfection units has become a necessary requirement for newly built or renovated air conditioning systems.

For public buildings such as shopping centers, the installation of ventilation systems or air handling units (HVAC) plays a crucial role in protecting human health and ensuring safe operational processes. To minimize the risk of indoor infections, air filtration systems are especially important. High-performance filters can effectively capture particles within specific size ranges, significantly reducing the concentration of indoor pathogens.

Indoor Air Quality Improvement at Hangzhou Intime City

Hangzhou Intime City pioneers an international integrated complex model combining dual commercial and business cores. It brings together Intime Shopping Center, Ascott International Serviced Apartments, and Intime OFFICE into one seamless hub, aiming to create the shortest distances, highest efficiency, and most comprehensive facilities for a convenient business and lifestyle radius.

In addition to corresponding hygiene measures, Intime City requires high-efficiency air filters to ensure that indoor air quality remains at a premium level over the long term, providing more reliable protection for both consumers and staff.

MayAir’s air filters and purification equipment comply with professional standards across various fields and can meet each customer’s customized needs. By combining different levels of filters or devices, MayAir ensures optimal indoor air quality and reduces the risk of infection.

The project utilizes MayAir electrostatic filters, which effectively remove suspended particles from circulated air, including dust, smoke, cigarette odor, pollen, viruses, spores, and bacteria. The filtration level reaches F7 and above, with microbial purification efficiency reaching 90% (based on laboratory testing).

With a pressure drop of only 20 Pa, the system significantly reduces energy consumption while maintaining indoor air quality. The use of electrostatic filtration equipment also extends service life, creating a more economical HVAC system.

MayAir focuses on purification and offers customizable, upgradable purification products suitable for ventilation systems designed for infection control, providing reliable air protection for homes and public buildings.
